Our commitment to excellence goes beyond the premier class A interiors we build and the people who build them. At Miller LaPoint, we’re deeply committed to serving our community. From the top of our leadership throughout our team, a servant mentality permeates everything we do. Miller LaPoint is honored to support a number of worthy organizations. Here are a few that are near and dear to us.
Joining The Fight To #BeatCancer
RFL Houston is a collective group of invested and committed individuals that partners with The Leukemia Lymphoma Society to improve quality of life for patients with blood-related diseases and encourage the participation of others through a spirit of giving. To date, RFL Houston has donated over $250,000 to LLS.
Miller LaPoint President Jay Miller first got involved after losing his father to the deadly disease. He’s served on the board for the past ten years – five of those as Chairman. Our annual Chipping Away At Cancer golf tournament donates all proceeds to this cause.
Another LLS partner, Team In Training gets volunteer teams to take on best-in-class endurance challenges worldwide, preparing them with professional coaching and training, as well as customized fundraising support for research and advancements in the fight against blood cancers.
Since its inception in 1988, Team In Training has grown to be the largest charity endurance training program in the world, with events that include run/walk races, triathalons, cycling, hiking, and climbing. Team MLC is honored to participate in these events, which have raised over $1.5 billion.
LLS is committed to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, as well as improving the quality of life for patients and their families. The largest non-profit funder of cutting-edge research, LLS has invested over $1 billion in the advancement of breakthrough, lifesaving new treatments.
LLS also helps patients navigate their treatment, ensuring they have access to quality, affordable care before, during, and after diagnosis. Founded in 1944, LLS has become the leading source of free information, education, and support for patients, survivors, families, and healthcare professionals. Just as important, the organization provides hope and compassion. Miller LaPoint Construction is grateful for all LLS does and is proud to support this organization and its partners.
Sponsored by Andy’s Challenge, Clays For A Cure is a sporting clay event that helps fund cancer research and mentors and empowers young cancer heros to become future leaders. Created in 2014 by friends and family of Andy Allen, the event supports multiple organizations involved with research and treatment of blood cancers and childhood cancers, including LLS and The Periwinkle Foundation (another charity supported by Miller LaPoint.)
When Andy relapsed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2014, the treatment protocol that saved his life wasn’t even available when he first battled leukemia a few years earlier. That’s a testament to the power of research, and that’s why we at Miller LaPoint will continue to support these, and other important organizations.
